TGRWA Projects: Tyndall Lodging

TGRWA has been the structural engineer for several sizeable federal government projects recently, including the new hotel on Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City, FL. The 220,000 square-foot, 5-story structure provides 360 hotel rooms to the base.

Located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the steel-framed structure was designed to withstand the Code-required high wind speeds using moment frames throughout the floor plan. Additionally, to meet the Code-required standards, TGRWA coordinated the design of the structure for Progressive Collapse. This required intricate connection detailing and diaphragm analysis to meet the Progressive Collapse requirements.

The building is currently in construction with an anticipated opening date in 2024.
