Tribune Tower
435 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, ILTGRWA provided structural engineering services for the conversion of and addition to the existing iconic Tribune Tower into a luxury condominium and prominent retail complex on Michigan Ave. The total 950,000 sq. ft., 162 unit building includes a new 4-story addition to the North Tower. The existing clay tile and steel framed structure was renovated with new steel framing, along with the new steel framed structure addition. Renovations included modifications to the lateral system frames and floor structure removals, vertical transportation modifications, and new MEP systems. The hotel features a new rooftop terrace and pool next to the refurbished Chicago Tribune sign, and expansive green roofs and courtyard.
