TGRWA partnered with HFA and ARCO/Murray as a design-build team for a new golf center in Championsgate, Florida. The 45,000 square foot, steel-framed structure features 25+ golf bays and both interior and exterior restaurant/amenity space.
The main design challenges for this building stemmed from the high, hurricane-level wind speeds that is required by Code in the region. The lateral system consists of long-span gabled rigid frames at every column line to provide the required stiffness. Additionally, the rigid frame base plates and foundation elements had to be sized to resist large uplift forces.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
